Bridging the information/intelligence gap

Even though some of the same technology that has made online transactions possible also helps to bridge the Information gap, real-time Intelligence is still hard to come by, says Shane Smith.

Through the evolutionary development of the FX portals, the approach has generally been bank-centric: bank STP has been the key driver, bank efficiencies were the goal. Clients were sold the concept on the basis of better spreads and better price discovery, with promises of client-side STP as the next stage.
