Reuters TBS achieves trading record

Reuters Treasury Broking Services accomplished a new global trading record on Reuters Dealing 3000 Spot Matching on Tuesday, 30 November when 45,124 trades were conducted representing US$86.87 billion in volume. This surpasses a previous record high of 44,291 trades, representing volumes of US$84.34 billion earlier this year on 3 March.Record trading volumes were driven by the political situation in the Ukraine, which led to heavy trading in commodity sensitive currencies in particular, and continued pressure on the US dollar. Reuters highest traded currency pairs were GBP/USD, followed by AUD/USD and then EUR/GBP, with EUR/SEK and EUR/NOK also experiencing highs. While the trading interest took off initially in Singapore/Asia, they also experienced large trading volumes in the UK and Ireland, which continued that afternoon into the U.S., Canadian and Mexican markets....continued
