It comes as little news to anyone in the industry that the Foreign Exchange markets are in the middle of a tumultuous period of growth, expansion and transformation. The FX markets are benefiting from the increased liquidity, transparency and accessibility conjured by the conflux of technological improvements. The sell-side’s increased opportunity to generate revenue, both in terms of Prime Services and proprietary trading are, however, counterbalanced by the risks assumed in offering eFX services to their burgeoning buy-side client base.
