In this era of persistent FX market volatility, institutional investors have the dual challenge of finding liquidity and doing so with creditworthy partners.   Every buy side player in the currency market place — be they real money manager or hedge fund, whether they are seeking to avoid or to engage currency volatility — is looking for greater control and increased efficiency in execution and processing.  At the same time, asset owners are demanding that their managers deliver improved performance.  Regulators, particularly in the context of Europe's Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID), which defines best execution to include cost, speed, likelihood of execution and likelihood of settlement, continue to shape market practice. Generally speaking, the FX market is seeking to reduce risk of all types, including counterparty, implementation and settlement.
