CME foreign exchange products in May averaged a record 501,000 contracts per day, reflecting notional value of $63.6 billion, up 69 percent compared with the year-ago period. In May, electronic foreign exchange products increased 90 percent to average a record 451,000 contracts per day compared with the same period last year.
CME Euro FX futures reached a monthly average daily volume record of 204,000 with a notional value of $34.2 billion. CME offers the largest regulated FX trading complex in the world. Last year over 84 million FX contracts with a notional value of over $10.2 trillion traded at CME.
